Isa Carstens® Wellness Sanctuary provides an authentic industry commercial experience for therapists in training to elevate their expertise to Isa’s differentiated standard of excellence. Our guests receive skin and body treatments in a tranquil environment where they can relax and rejuvenate whilst sharing in our students’ learning and professional development.

Somatologists study for three years, and Advanced Aesthetic Therapists study for four years to graduate with qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education. MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling is a well-known treatment used to induce collagen production. Microneedling uses a sterile needle cartridge that punctures the skin multiple times, forming micro-channels. As a result, the micro-injury stimulates the regeneration of the dermis by activating growth factors and other cell messengers to rebuild and revive the structure and strength of the skin.
What is Microneedling used for?
- Anti-ageing benefits to bring about improvements in the texture and reduce irregular pigment.
- Acne scarring benefits bring about improvements in the surface appearance and overall smoothness.
- Hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage and trauma to the skin.
- Stretch marks to reduce their visibility while the blood supply is still intact.
What to expect
A numbing cream is applied to reduce discomfort, most of which need 30 – 45 minutes to activate. After the treatment there will be a short downtime: the skin will be red and sensitive for a few days, and slight bruising and swelling may also be present.
The initial skin tightening and smoother texture can be seen soon after treatment. The results become visible four to six weeks after treatment when the skin has had time to heal and rebuild to an improved condition.
RADIO FREQUENCY
Radio Frequency is a non-invasive treatment which not only provides excellent results but is also a deeply relaxing treatment for the face and body.
The device emits radio frequency energy into the skin, causing the tissue to warm up. The heat stimulates the breakdown of old collagen, providing space for new healthy collagen. This treatment has shown remarkable results on skin firmness and overall skin functioning. An advanced aesthetic therapist can design a unique treatment plan focused on your goals by adding other treatment modalities, such as chemical peels or microneedling, to enhance the results further.
Am I a good candidate for Radio Frequency?
Indications for radio frequency are any skin with fine lines, wrinkles and sagging present on the face or body.
What to expect?
There is no downtime, and the treatment is pain-free, although some people may find the heat produced slightly uncomfortable. Depending on the individual’s concerns, a course of treatments is necessary, ranging from 6-8 treatments done at weekly intervals to obtain the best results. It is a relaxing treatment, allowing for a momentary getaway with excellent benefits!
Radio Frequency for Special Occasions
The results are seen in a short space of time. The immediate effect is skin lifting and tightening due to new collagen production. The skin brightening effect is created by lymphatic drainage and increased micro-circulation. DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skincare treatment that involves using a sharp blade to remove dead skin cells and fine facial hair from the surface of the skin. Dermaplaning has a dual effect on the skin. It is a physical peel without any chemical reaction in the skin, removing all the dead skin cells. Dermaplaning removes all the vellus hairs (known as the peach fuzz), making a make-up application flawless and smooth. Dermaplaning allows better product penetration, leaving the skin radiant and hydrated. Promoting collagen production by enhancing skin cell turnover is an additional defence to ageing skin.
What to expect?
You can expect to feel a slight scraping sensation, but the treatment is generally painless. Afterwards, your skin may be slightly red and sensitive, but this should subside within a few hours.

PEDICURE WITH MEDIHEEL
A Medi-heel pedicure will provide a long-lasting effect on the feet. The treatment consists of 3 main steps.
1. Callus Softening Tonic. The tonic is applied to the feet where callouses and cracks are present and is left on the skin for a few minutes. The tonic has a keratolytic effect, breaking down the protein bonds and keeping the dead skin attached. The effect is super easy removal of the calluses.
2. The neutraliser is applied, allowing the skin’s pH to return to normal. The neutraliser prevents dehydration. The dead skin cells are then scraped and filed off.
3. End the treatment with a massage using the Foot Perfector. The Foot Perfector locks in moisture and is slip-free. The result is soft and super-smooth feet.
EYELASH AND BROW SERVICES
Eyelashes and brows frame the face. Designing the shape and colour can enhance the appearance of one’s eyes and face. Tinting can define the brows and lashes while giving them a fuller and lifted look. Curling your lashes or extending the length provides an open and fresh look. More thorough hair removal techniques other than tweezing can ensure the removal of super-fine hair, leaving a smooth surface to help create a more polished and symmetrical appearance. The look can also be soft, feathery, and natural.

Treatments are performed by somatologists, advanced aesthetic therapists, and therapists in training. Therapists in training perform treatments under the guidance and coaching of our managers and qualified staff. The student completes all theory and practical training for each component before the modalities are available to our guests. We are committed to excellence and educating employable therapists, so this platform is included in the training programme. The therapist in training gains experience in a real-life environment and develops the necessary soft skills and confidence to be a successful professional in this field.
